i love this game! the art is beautiful and so's the music. it's been very difficult getting a balanced world, but that'll make it cooler once i manage it.

That cover art is insane. I wish I could have that on a t-shirt!

(the whole game is beautiful too!)

I really enjoyed playing! I tried out the constellation and Halloween maps. I struggled a bit with the constellation map as some of the spores blended in with the background, but I super enjoyed the ghosts on the Halloween map! The carnivorous bugs and plants were a lot of fun!!

I played this game ages ago on Steam and really liked it! Thank you for making it.

Thanks for including the soundtrack in the bundle, I'm really enjoying it.  I noticed Planet Mushroom has a similar melody as A Victorious Bell is Ringing from Herzog Zwei.  Not sure if that's intentionally done as an easter egg or just a coincidence?

It'd be great if the relevant encyclopedia entry (or better yet a brief summary) would appear as a tooltip when you mouse over any fungus or bug, or pick up a spore or bug (including in the intervention menu). Having to find the right info when some of the sprites look similar is very tedious.

Has anyone else had a problem in the modules such as celestial hills where you cant see the info on any of the fungi or bugs it's really annoying i've been trying to find the info elsewhere but i can't find it and it's really sad because then i find it too hard to play the modules without that knowledge can someone please help me with this

@Eric, sent you an email w/bug report (and suggestion for a fix).

Commenting here to be sure you receive it.

The modules update is like... godlike in awesomeness

been playing this a lot recently =] it's very relaxing, but i'm also having some trouble... i had a roach surrounded by hundreds of locust corpses and it still went extinct - meanwhile locusts seem to be able to survive to reproducing age on nothing but air, despite the planet being covered with air combs =[ not sure what's going on with that

also, some of the logs seem to be a little broken - text going outside the bounds of the box, "\n"being visble, and a couple of typos here and there

lastly... if you ever plan on updating this in the future, would it be possible to add something like a "creative" mode? i'd love to be able to more freely experiment with different synergies without having to use a meteor and hoping the space doesn't get colonised by the neighbouring plants in the meantime =]

Ahh the logs keeps being a bit of a thorn in my side heheh... do you happen to remember which logs are broken? I suppose I better just make sure i reread all of them.

Creative mode is an interesting idea - and one im certainly amenable to. What would it entail? Infinite interventions and no random events?

Yes, I have a lot of problems with locusts too. Even if you put special effort into killing them, their corpses litter the entire map (keeping any other bugs from reaching the food below) and they reproduce as they die. In a future update it would be nice if creature and fungus parameters such as breeding rate could be customised (or perhaps even if certain creatures could be disabled - 'no locust world').

(reposting my steam review here, cause I love Earthtongue!) This is a fantastic game. It is reminiscent of SimLife or SimAnt, with more of a focus on exploring and discovering an ecosystem as it evolves on your little planetoid. The world of Earthtongue - with its beautiful music, adorable bugs, and colorful, lo-fi aesthetics - is a very pleasing place to visit indeed!

it seems that this isn't labled as compatible with windows? the itch client doesn't recognise it as such, anyway

Oh dear, it looks like I forgot to check the box  that simply marks it as windows-compatible when i updated the build last. This is fixed now, sorry it took so long to notice these comments!

When I start a new game (1.2.2), all I see is the background stars/planets and no other layers. Am I doing something wrong?

(1 edit) (+1)

Yeah me too!

Also save and quit allows "no" but not "yes".

Edit: i've found that you can choose 1.2.2 or 1.3. 1.3 works okay!

Hmm... I'm on a mac, and 1.3 isn't working for me :/

This game is lovely. But for some reason, the game no longer works in the Itch app. I had the game already downloaded and installed previously (I hadn't played it in a long while but it used to work fine), but when I clicked "Launch" nothing happened. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling... And it says "not available on Windows" and won't let me. I can still download it fine on the web site via my library and just run it locally myself. Any idea what's causing that? My other games still seem to work fine.

I have this game on Steam and it is amazing. I love playing it and taking breaks to make music while it runs in the background <3
